Nepal records highest single day spike

Nepal reported 2,020 new coronavirus infections, the highest single-day spike so far, and seven Covid-19-related deaths on Friday.

With this, the national infection tally has reached 61,593 while the death toll stands at 390.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the active case count stands at 17,383. So far, 43,820 individuals have made successful recovery—871 of them in the past 24 hours.

The Kathmandu Valley recorded the highest daily coronavirus cases with 859 new infections. Of them, 698 were confirmed in Kathmandu, 82 in Bhaktapur and 79 in Lalitpur districts.

Boney Kapoor’s house help tests Covid-19 positive

Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor says that his house help who was unwell for a while, tested coronavirus positive, and Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and state government authorities have transported him to a quarantine centre.
